Communications strategy · French-speaking Switzerland

The part you don't see, and that holds it all together.

Editorial direction, yearly plan, art direction. You stop chasing images: they arrive on time, and January's tell the same company story as December's.

What we do

What holds it all together.

Strategy isn't another document that gets filed away in a drawer. It decides, every month, what we photograph, film and publish, and why. You save time, and your image grows stronger.

Editorial direction

What you show, what you don't, in what tone. A few clear rules that apply to all your materials and to everyone who produces for you.

  • A two-to-four-page document: subjects, tone, light, framing, uses
  • The same reference points for us and for your other suppliers
  • Reviewed once a year, adjusted to feedback from the field

Yearly image plan

Recurring events, launches, seasons. In January we know what December will need, and the proposal arrives before the request.

  • The year on one page, month by month
  • Images ready on time: season's greetings in November, autumn campaigns in August
  • One review per quarter to adjust what has changed

Art direction

An eye that keeps everything you produce consistent, whether it comes from us or from your other suppliers.

  • One person checks the consistency of everything that goes out
  • Briefs, guidelines and reviews for the agencies and freelancers who work for you
  • Decisions made for the company's image, not for the latest trend

Image check-up

An honest assessment of your current image: consistency, frequency, uses. A short version is available online and takes three minutes.

Take the check-up

Why Day

Fewer emergencies, more image.

Most companies produce their images one job at a time, when the need is already pressing. We turn that around: we anticipate, we keep things consistent, and every franc you invest builds the same image.

Most often

Images commissioned one job at a time

  • The shoot organised the day before publication
  • A different style for every supplier and every campaign
  • Images made for a single use, then forgotten in a folder
  • An image budget you discover one emergency at a time

With Day

One direction, one plan, one eye

  • The year's needs anticipated, images ready ahead of time
  • The same reference points for everyone who produces for you
  • Every shoot designed to feed several channels
  • A budget set at the start of the year, with no nasty surprises

How it works

From check-up to follow-up.

Check-up

An assessment of your images, your materials and how they are produced today.

Direction

A few simple rules: subjects, tone, light, framing, uses. A short document that everyone understands.

Plan

The year laid out month by month: what recurs, what is coming, what can be anticipated.

Follow-up

One review per quarter to adjust course, and ongoing art direction on everything produced.

Frequently asked questions

Before we start.

Is it only for Day One partners?
No. Strategy is included in Day One, but it can also be a one-off assignment: a check-up, an editorial direction, a yearly plan.
How long does it take?
A check-up and a visual direction take two to three weeks to set up. The yearly plan follows, then one review per quarter is enough to keep it on track.
How is it different from brand guidelines?
Brand guidelines say how the logo is applied. Editorial direction says which images we make, and why.
Do we have to plan everything in advance?
No. Much of the year is predictable; the rest still has room. The plan adapts as things change, at the quarterly review or sooner.
Do you work with our existing suppliers?
Yes. That's exactly what a shared visual direction is for: giving everyone who produces for you the same reference points, whether it's us or others.

Let's talk

Let's start with a check-up.

30 minutes, no commitment. You tell us about your company, and you come away with an outside perspective and concrete ideas, whether or not we end up working together.
